Q. This is my first visit to the area. What activities can
we anticipate?
A. We offer activities for the young and the young
at heart. Each cabin includes a Visitors Guide that will help you become
familiar with the area and will list numerous activities for you to make
your visit a memorable trip.
Q. Where do I check in?
A. Upon making your reservation, we will provide you with driving directions
to your cabin and let you know at that time the combination lock or how to obtain
access to your cabin. We do not have a central office to check-in with
us. We will check-in with you! If your cell phone is working in our
area, we would greatly appreciate a telephone call upon our arrival.
Q. Will my cell phone work in the area?
A. Cell phone coverage is limited. U.S. Cellular and
Cingular work best in our area. Other services are a “hit & miss”. The
Beavers Bend Resort Park area is located in a low area and cell phone service
will not work. Pay phones are available at the two convenience stores located
in the Hochatown area.
Q. Where can we buy firewood?
A. We can arrange to have firewood at your cabin upon
arrival; additional fees will apply and can be added to your cabin rental. Additionally
both local convenience stores sell firewood by the rick.
Q. Are alcoholic beverages sold in area
restaurants?
A. In McCurtain County, it is required that you “bring
your own bottle”. A temporary membership must be purchased and a
set-up/corkage fee will apply per drink served. Abendigos Restaurant is
the only establishment that has a liquor license. Beer and Wine coolers
can be sold at Abendigos, otherwise, bring your own bottle.
Q. Where is the closest grocery store?
A. The only grocery store in our area is Pruett’s
located on HWY 259 in Broken Bow. (7-12 miles) There is a Super Wall mart
in Idabel (18-24 miles) Frontier General/Phillips 66 Gas Station in the Hochatown
area stocks for campers. We suggest Frontier General to purchase your
steaks & shrimp to grill – they’re the best!
Q. What fees can be expected to pay to enjoy the area facilities?
A. To enter the park facilities & lake access areas
are complimentary. Fees apply for fishing, hunting and land access fees to enter
the Three-Rivers Wildlife Management areas. Licenses can be purchased at our
local convenience stores and Wal-Mart stores.
Q. Do you have any cabins that have direct access to ATV riding?
A. Some of the best riding trails cannot be accessed from
any cabins; which is one reason why they are the best; there are no private lands
close to these prime areas. The Ouachita National Forest and the
Three Rivers Land surround our cabins; however it is illegal to ride on any roads
or cross Hwy 259 on 4-wheelers. We will provide you with land maps and
we’ll be able to direct you to the “easy riding” areas and
the “big boy riding” areas!
